Local News in Brief : Brea : Worker Hurt as Copter Blows Palm Onto Him

A 25-year-old construction worker was injured Friday morning when a helicopter being used to move palm trees at a construction site blew one of the trees onto him, Brea Fire Department officials said.
James Dougherty, a foreman working near the intersection of Birch Street and State College Boulevard, was treated by paramedics for abrasions on his right elbow and bruises on his hip, said Jerry Richardson, a paramedic with the Brea Fire Department.
Dougherty was taken to Brea Community Hospital, where he was admitted for observation, a hospital spokeswoman said.
