Lawyers for Paul McCartney, George Harrison and John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono temporarily stopped a London record company Tuesday from selling an album repackaging early Beatles’ recordings. High Court Judge Sir Peter Millett adjourned the hearing for three weeks to allow lawyers to gather evidence. The company, Charly Records, which specializes in re-releasing previously recorded songs, produced the disputed album. The songs were recorded on New Year’s Day, 1962, by the Silver Beatles, the Beatles’ forerunner in which Pete Best, who was replaced by Ringo Starr, played drums.
