Man’s Body Found Off Road in Alpine
A body was found wrapped and bound in a blanket Sunday afternoon in Alpine by a woman who stopped at the side of the road because of car trouble, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said.
An unidentified male, between the ages of 30 and 40, was found dead at 1:15 p.m., apparently from a gunshot wound to the forehead, the spokeswoman said.
The body was found 2.2 miles east of Tavern Road on Japatul Valley Road, lying 25 feet down an embankment near a bridge. The body was believed to have been there for several days, she said.
No further details would be available pending an autopsy, the spokeswoman said.
