Boeing’s earnings rose 15% to $136 million in the first quarter. The Seattle aerospace firm credited its performance to lower levels of research, development and other new business expenses relating to commercial jet transports, future military and space programs, computing and electronics and the lower federal income tax rate. Revenue was down 5% to $3.6 billion.
