‘Clandestine Destiny’
Mexico, 1987, 82 minutes, 8 p.m. This attempt at philosophical science fiction by leading Mexican film maker Jaime Humberto Hermosillo--on no less a subject than life’s meaning--dribbles off into tacky, bisexual group fantasies between a suicidal art critic, a gay balladeer, a nun and a B-movie girl. Though sometimes fun, the film all but rolls its eyes at you.
