3 UCLA Researchers Win Sloan Fellowships

Three UCLA researchers have received Alfred P. Sloan Foundation fellowships, which provide research support to young faculty members.
The two-year, $25,000 awards went to Mladen Bestvina, assistant professor of mathematics; Peter Felker, assistant professor of physical chemistry, and Robert L. Whetten, assistant professor of physical chemistry.
The fellowships are awarded to faculty members under 32 years old who are beginning their research careers in chemistry, physics, mathematics, economics, neurosciences or related interdisciplinary fields.
