Summa Health Plan, a Fresno-based health maintenance organization, has filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding in an effort to keep medical providers from canceling contracts. Summa announced that the petition, filed in bankruptcy court at Fresno, bars hospitals and other providers from ending their contracts.
