Two Palestinians Slain in Gaza as Rioting Continues
JERUSALEM — Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire in the Gaza Strip on Monday during the third day of rioting in the occupied territories since the assassination of a top PLO leader, Palestinian sources and hospital officials said.
Over the weekend, at least 12 Palestinians were killed and 137 wounded by army gunfire in riots that erupted hours after the death of Khalil Wazir, second only to Yasser Arafat in the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
More than 400,000 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip remained under curfew Monday in an Israeli attempt to prevent further violence.
