Homicide detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the San Diego Police Department on Sunday were investigating the deaths of three men--all unidentified--in three separate incidents.
One of the deaths was being investigated as a possible suicide, the county coroner’s office said. In that incident, a man’s body was discovered shortly after noon Sunday floating in the water in the Ski Beach area of Mission Bay. The man had been shot once in the neck, possibly a self-inflicted wound, authorities said, and a pistol was found in his clothing.
In the second incident, San Diego Police Department homicide detectives were investigating the shooting death of a man in a home in the 3200 block of Ocean View Boulevard.
The man, said to be about 30 years old, was shot twice in the chest and died at the UC San Diego Medical Center.
And sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man whose body was found mired in the mud at an estuary at Border State Park in Imperial Beach, a quarter mile north of the Mexican Border
Sheriff’s investigators said the man apparently had been dead for an extended period of time.
