Amid deep fears that the nation’s economy is slipping dangerously, most Americans favor restricting foreign business investment in the United States, according to a poll conducted for U.S. News & World Report magazine. Fifty-seven percent of 1,000 people responding to the Roper Poll objected to foreign companies building plants in America, with 49% objecting even if it creates more jobs.
