Robbie Conal is at it again. The Los Angeles-based artist, who has clandestinely papered L.A., New York and Washington with satirical posters of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Oliver North, Margaret Thatcher and others, has now targeted Jim and Tammy Bakker. The two new color posters have popped up around town in the last week. Heavily made-up Tammy Faye Bakker is pictured above the word “False”; her smiling husband peers out above the word “Profit.” Conal said he’s about to start pinning up the posters (published by Mirage Editions, Santa Monica) around the country: “I’ll be doing my ‘Easter Bunny Bible Belt Tour’ with Jimmy and Tammy” through New York, Washington and Chicago and the South.
