Nixon on Pardoning North, Poindexter
Nixon favoring the pardoning of North and Poindexter (surprise? no, I guess not) included an unwitting revelation along toward the end. He claimed he would not get “fair treatment” from historians “ . . . Because most historians are on the left.”
Thus, by his own perception, the best informed, most aware group who have made a career of studying the facts, of figuring out cause and effect, have ended up as “liberals.” There just might be a message here that more people might do well to take note of.
(Possibly I might be a little biased by being a “liberal” with a master’s degree in history who taught history for several decades. When I was young and ignorant, I recall being a “conservative.”)
