El Dorado’s Facione to Sign With California
El Dorado High School’s Chris Facione will sign a letter of intent today to play baseball at the University of California, according to his father, Pete Facione.
Facione, an All-Empire League selection in football (wide receiver), basketball (forward) and baseball (outfielder), was recruited as a football player by Vanderbilt, Rice, Dartmouth and Cornell.
Facione, who is 6-feet 3-inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, said he chose Cal for the school’s exceptional academics and the possibility of moving into the outfield as a freshman. The Bears currently have two seniors in their outfield.
