South County : Electricity Restored to 1,914 Customers
Full electrical service was restored early Tuesday to all of the 1,914 customers in Laguna Hills and parts of Mission Viejo that were without power after trouble in an underground cable caused an outage Monday night, a spokeswoman for San Diego Gas & Electric Co. said.
Karen Duncan said an underground cable at Paseo de Valencia and Ericson Way was “faulted”’ in some manner about 10:10 p.m. Monday, and all power was lost to the 1,914 customers for at least an hour. Power was restored in phases until all customers had power by 4:10 a.m.
Duncan said the cause of the problem was not immediately determined, but might have resulted from water seepage.
