Mira Mesa Power Loss Hits 3,800
An early-morning power outage affected about 3,800 Mira Mesa residents Tuesday when an underground circuit failed, a San Diego Gas & Electric spokesman said.
Repair crews restored 95% of the power at 8:10 a.m., less than two hours after the outage occurred, said Tom Murnane, SDG&E; spokesman. Remaining electricity was restored at 9:45 a.m.
Normal wear on the underground equipment that runs along Camino Ruiz, a main street in Mira Mesa, was blamed for the outage. Worn-out circuit connectors, thought to be the cause of the power failure, were sent to a laboratory for analysis, Murnane said.
