James C. McGovern has been appointed president of Aluminum Forge Co., based in Santa Ana. He succeeds George S. Speer, who because of health reasons has assumed the position of vice president for special projects. Before joining Aluminum Forge, McGovern was president of the Pacific division of Arnold Engineering, a unit of Allegheny International, for 10 years. Earlier, he had held process engineering and industrial management positions with Air Reduction Co., Bethlehem Steel and the Universal Cyclops division of Cyclops Corp. Aluminum Forge, part of the Marmon Group of companies, produces aluminum forgings for aviation, aerospace and other high-technology industries.
