Jackie Pittman Leaves Titan Softball Team

Jackie Pittman, who starred at Ocean View High School as Jackie Oakley, has left the Cal State Fullerton softball team in order to concentrate on academics, school officials said.

Pittman, a freshman pitcher, led Ocean View to an undefeated season and the Southern Section 4-A championship in 1985. At Fullerton, she had a record of 6-3 and an earned-run average of 1.52 but had pitched only sparingly lately.

Pittman was married and had a baby last year and was balancing those responsibilities with school and softball.
