The United States has plans to send additional military forces to South Korea during the Olympic Games if North Korea attempts to disrupt them, the commander of U.S. Forces-Japan said.
“Many people . . . are very much concerned about what the North Koreans might do because of basically their lack of predictability, which puts it about as nicely as I can,” Lt. Gen. James B. Davis, commander of the 5th Air Force and U.S. Forces-Japan, said.
Concern about possible North Korean disruptive actions during the Seoul Games, has mounted since 15 people were killed in the terrorist bombing of a South Korean passenger jet in November.
