Local News in Brief : Shuttle Plan Abandoned
- Share via
The Manhattan Beach City Council has abandoned the idea of running a shuttle bus service through the downtown area during Streetscape construction.
The shuttle bus service was suggested as a way to alleviate traffic and parking problems during the downtown renovation. However, the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business and Professional Assn. opposed the plan, and that was enough for the council to vote Tuesday to end consideration of the bus service.
The business group told the council that previous experiments with shuttle service had been unsuccessful and said there was not enough time to effectively promote the service.
