MCA said it will open a new attraction at its Universal Studios Tour on June 1, based on the “Star Trek” motion pictures and television series produced at another studio, Paramount Pictures. The $8-million attraction is part of an expansion of the studio tour that is expected to cost about $142 million, two studio sources said. Last week, MCA announced an affiliation with yet another studio, Hanna Barbera Productions, to build an animation center based on Hanna Barbera animated characters at Universal Studios Florida, a theme park under construction.
