Talks are scheduled to resume Tuesday between representatives for Santa Ana teachers, school district officials and a state mediator over a new teacher contract and pay raise. The teachers want an 8% pay raise retroactive to July 1, when their last contract expired. The school board’s most recent offer is a 3.5% increase. The teachers voted last month to authorize a strike if their demands were not met, but later they agreed to resume negotiations.
