Taft Elementary School in Santa Ana will be the site Friday of a world record attempt--in chess. Roy Runas, 11, of Long Beach will attempt to set a record for a youth under 12 by playing against 21 chess players simultaneously. In the 1920s, child prodigy Sammy Reshevsky played 20 boards simultaneously with a score of 19 wins and one draw.
