Donated Blood Pours In for Wounded Officer
FRESNO — About 120 pints of blood have been donated for a Fresno police officer seriously wounded earlier this week in an accidental shooting at a police dressing station.
Everett Rabbon, 37, was listed in critical but stable condition Saturday after undergoing additional surgery Friday, a Valley Medical Center spokeswoman said. Rabbon was shot in the neck Wednesday night after an unnamed officer dropped his .38-caliber semiautomatic pistol on the concrete floor. The gun fired, and Rabbon was hit in the neck.
“It’s been incredible. They’re still coming in. I bet we’ll see at least 130 (pints) for that,” said Leslie Blore, a blood bank spokeswoman.
