The Atlanta Falcons tabbed linebacker Aundray Bruce of Auburn as the first player to be selected in the 1988 National Football League draft April 24.
The Falcons said they will begin contract talks in hopes of signing Bruce before draft day.
Coach Marion Campbell and his staff selected Bruce over defensive end Neil Smith of Nebraska.
