U.S. Troops in Honduras

Reagan and company’s conducting of foreign affairs--from the blasphemy of Bitburg, the Wild West shoot-outs in Libya and Grenada, to the Iran-Contra scam--has been a sad succession of outrages.
Now, completely stripped of any claim to integrity, wisdom and compassion, this Administration wants us to believe that skirmishes on the banks of a jungle river are--I quote Secretary of State George Shultz--” . . . A genuine national security problem for the United States.” It is difficult to decide which is more appalling: the Reagan White House’s flagrant lying and utter venality toward the people of Central America, or the citizens of this country being too complacent to demand that impeachment proceedings get under way immediately.
