North County Home Sales Up

New-home sales in northern Los Angeles County during November, December and January were up 4% over “an already vigorous fall quarter,” according to Mike Volz, vice president, Continental Land Title Co., Universal City.
Volz said that 1,339 houses were sold, with Antelope Valley leading the market with 696 single-family homes sales. Palmdale was the most active submarket with 384 single-family houses sold. Only 185 condominiums and townhouses were sold.
The average price of both attached and detached residences was $144,808. The Antelope Valley average was $109,303, and that of Santa Clarita Valley, $191,200.
