John Malkovich will play a 17th-Century Italian nobleman who marries impoverished countess Isabelle Adjani in “The King’s Whore” for a May start in France. The classy affair will be directed by Daniel Vigne (“Return of Martin Guerre”) from a script by Frederic Raphael. . . . “Love At First Bite” director Stan Dragoti and writer Bob Kaufman reteam on Weintraub’s “Daddy’s Little Girl,” a comedy with Tony Danza as a pop confronting his teen-age daughter’s coming of age. Films next month.
Mah-jongg, anyone? Scheduled to play Bev Hills players in “Beverly Hills Brats” are vets Mae Clarke, Ruby Keeler, Natalie Schaeffer and Blue Koford (co-producer Terry Moore’s mom). In same pic, Martin Sheen goes for laughs as a philandering plastic surgeon. . . . Auteur Sam Fuller adapts and directs pulpmaster David Goodis’ murder-mystery “Street of No Return,” with Keith Carradine playing a murder suspect, to film next month in Paris.
