THE PREPS : Softball : San Clemente Gets No-Hitter, Rallies for Win

San Clemente High School’s Nique Monson (1-1) and Tara Roush combined for a no-hitter in Friday’s nonleague softball game against University, but because of six walks and four errors, the host Tritons had to come from behind to win, 5-4.
University (0-2) had a 4-2 lead, but San Clemente (1-1) scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score, then scored an unearned run in the seventh for the victory.
In another nonleague game:
Capistrano Valley 4, Estancia 3--Stacey Martnick scored on a passed ball with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to give host Capistrano Valley (3-0) the victory.
In the Cypress tournament:
Edison 1, St. Paul 0--Terry Carpenter threw a 15-strikeout no-hitter for Edison (3-0).
