Huntington Beach 10, Newbury Park 7--A Panther rally in the seventh inning fell short in a Loara tournament semifinal game at Newbury Park. Don Smith and Dan Smith each had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for Newbury Park (4-2).
Faith Baptist 10, Maricopa 6--Shaik Nabi struck out 12 and doubled home a run in the Contenders’ opener.
Simi Lutheran 9, Grace Community 2--Simi Lutheran scored 5 runs in the third and 4 in the fifth in the nonleague game at home.
