A program to show how to recognize a suicidal teen-ager and teach ways to successfully intervene will be held today at the Irvine Hilton.
Entitled “Avoiding the Loss of Youth,” the program presented by mental health professionals and educators will provide information on ways to combat suicide, which is the second leading cause of death among 15- to 24-year-olds.
College hospitals of Cerritos and Costa Mesa, UC Irvine’s office of education and the county Department of Education are teaming up to present the all-day event.
The meeting is an approved program of continuing medical education and credits will be awarded for attendance.
