Moody’s Investors Service said it placed the B-3 ratings if New World Pictures Ltd.’s subordinated debt under review for possible downgrade . . . Standard & Poor’s said it downgraded Fireman’s Fund Corp.’s senior debt rating to AA-Minus from AA, citing the California’s insurer’s intention to repurchase 8.5 million common shares from its former parent, American Express, but it reaffirmed its AAA rating on the company’s claims-paying ability. . . . Eastern Airlines said it flew 2.55 billion revenue passenger miles in February, a 15.9% decline from the same month last year . . . Baker Hughes Inc. of Houston reports that the number of oil and gas rigs working in the United States decreased by five this week to total 978. A year ago, the rig count was 766.
