High School Baseball : Beltran Has No-Hitter for Castle Park
Juan Beltran pitched a no-hitter as host Castle Park (1-0) defeated Grossmont, 4-1, in a Warhawk tournament game that was called because of darkness after 5 1/2 innings.
Beltran (1-0) had a third-inning RBI on a fielder’s choice. Second baseman Juan Pena singled in the fourth inning to drive in a run and Joe Carrillo singled in the fifth to score two more.
Grossmont (0-1) scored in the first inning on two errors.
In other Warhawk tournament games:
Point Loma 3, Kearny 2--Jeff Gattis went 3 for 3 with an RBI for visiting Point Loma.
Sweetwater 5, Mar Vista 2--Juan Price hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and Raul Sanchez added a solo home run in the sixth for visiting Sweetwater (2-0).
Bonita Vista 8, Mt. Miguel 2--Randy Abshier allowed only three hits for visiting Bonita Vista.
Madison 7, Monte Vista 4--Andy Williams (1-0) struck out 10 and took a no-hitter into the sixth for Madison (1-0) at San Diego State.
