A Pentagon inspector general’s audit found Martin Marietta Corp. and Rockwell International Corp. overcharged the Army a total of $20.3 million on Hellfire anti-tank missile contracts, the Pentagon said. The audit alleged both companies failed to provide government contract negotiators with accurate cost and price information. It found Martin overcharged the Army at least $11 million and Rockwell overcharged the service at least $9.3 million. In a letter with the report, Maj. Gen. Harry Karegeannes said the Army Materiel Command agreed with the findings. A command spokesman said both companies denied the allegations.
