TV & VIDEO - March 8, 1988
From the “Look out, L.A.--here I come” file: Geraldo Rivera today kicks off a week of appearances in town to hype his talk show’s move next Monday from mornings on KTLA-TV Channel 5 to 4 p.m. on KCBS-TV Channel 2. And, to boost his new L.A. presence, the normally New York-based show will tape five segments this week at the Aquarius Theatre. Their content: celebrities who take risks (including Lorenzo Lamas, who drives race cars, and Carl Weathers, who does most of his own stunts); celebrities and their fitness trainers; and a follow-up on a Drug Enforcement Agency report that named Los Angeles the drug-usage capital of the country. KCBS, which has been languishing in third place in the news ratings for the last couple of years, is hoping that the talk show will boost the ratings of its 5 p.m. newscast.
