Clippers Expect to Sign Gregory to Contract Today
The Clippers plan to sign forward Claude Gregory to a 10-day contract today, team officials said.
Gregory, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward, has been playing for the LaCrosse (Wis.) Catbirds of the Continental Basketball Assn. He has averaged 23.9 points and 11.5 rebounds.
He will replace rookie forward Joe Wolf, who was placed on the injured list last week with a sprained right knee. Gregory is expected to make his debut Wednesday night when the Clippers play the New Jersey Nets at the Sports Arena.
The Clippers will also have to make a decision on whether to re-sign forward Kenny Fields, whose 10-day contract expires today.
