Police had no suspects or motives in three homicides that occurred in San Diego County over the weekend.
San Diego police were investigating the death of 22-year-old Daniel Fripp, who was found fatally shot in a Del Mar house at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses told police that, after a disturbance at the house, Fripp had been asked to leave. When the homeowners returned later after taking friends home, they found Fripp’s body.
Meanwhile, the victims of two homicides that occurred Saturday were identified Sunday. A body that had been found Saturday afternoon in an orange grove in Vista was identified as that of Talat Shalabi, 34. Shalabi, who had suffered numerous head injuries, was found beneath a tree near Sarver Lane and Vista Merriam, a spokesman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
San Diego police also identified a body that had been found in a trunk in Southeast San Diego late Saturday night as that of Dale Folkner, 36, of San Diego. Folkner, whose fully clothed body was found in a trunk in the street at 68th Street and Brooklyn Avenue, died of a gunshot wound to the throat, police said.
