Jazz Abuse

I am angry.
It’s not bad enough that our wonderfully talented jazz musicians are practically ignored by the TV networks, while they instead heap praise on no-talent rockers because they put out a new album or went on tour.
Calendar constantly doesn’t even bother to list the jazz articles in the table of contents. The last two Sundays this gross oversight has occurred; as it is, there is little space given to jazz.
When will the media in this country make an effort to recognize the great wealth of artistic jazz talent we have? I think the newspaper has a duty to the citizens of this city to inform and enlighten and uplift.
Stop feeding us pap.
