Ashton-Tate Corp.’s income rose 43.2% in the year ended Jan. 31 to a record $43.1 million. For the fourth quarter, net totaled $12.8 million, up 16.2% from the year-ago period. Annual revenue rose 26.8% to a record $267.3 million; quarterly revenue was up 16.6% to $75.5 million. The Torrance-based company said the success of several new products contributed largely to the gains. Ashton-Tate makes and markets business applications software and database systems for microcomputers.
