Local News in Brief : Woman Jumps to Death
A 28-year-old Long Beach woman jumped to her death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Monday night after first slashing her throat and wrists in her apartment, said Lt. Mike Melton of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division.
Wendy James’ body was discovered on Terminal Island by California Highway Patrol officers about 10:30 p.m. after they answered a call about an abandoned car on the bridge.
Paramedics found slash marks on the corpse’s throat and wrists and contacted detectives at the Harbor Division, who went to James’ apartment.
