Orange County’s largest anti-poverty program has been awarded a $138,000 federal grant to aid homeless people.
The grant will help the Community Development Council establish a mobile services center that will travel to sites in Orange County “easily accessible” to the homeless and remain there for two weeks, an agency spokesman said.
The mobile center will provide shelter vouchers, food and help refer homeless people to shelter agencies.
The six-month program begins in March.
