Chapman Men Win Volleyball Match

Walter Frome had 11 kills, 12 digs and 5 service aces to lead Chapman College to a 15-2, 17-15, 15-6 nonconference volleyball victory over Occidental Wednesday at Chapman.

Chapman (1-1) plays at San Diego State Saturday.

In other nonconference action:

Hawaii 3, UC Irvine 1--Hawaii, ranked fourth in the country in the coaches’ poll, beat Irvine, 15-2, 5-15, 15-4, 15-10, in a nonconference match at UCI. Dave Pettker had 19 kills for Irvine (1-4). Allen Allen had 17 kills for Hawaii (11-3).
