Cary Odell, Motion Picture Art Director
Cary Odell, 77, a longtime art director at Columbia Pictures who began in the industry in 1937 with “Lost Horizon.” He was nominated for three Academy Awards: in 1944 for “Cover Girl;” in 1958 for “Bell, Book and Candle” and in 1964 for “Seven Days in May.” On Tuesday in Cambria, Calif., where he had retired in 1975, of complications following surgery.
