Tuesday’s Cocktail Concert at Symphony Hall will kick off what the orchestra is calling its “Super Week” concert schedule that will end with the Super Saturday Symphony Salute on Jan. 30.
The cocktail concert format is aimed at downtown singles, with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar an hour before the 6:30 p.m. curtain. Resident conductor Fabio Mechetti will conduct the program of lighter, romantic fare, including Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet” fantasy and Grofe’s “Grand Canyon Suite.”
Though October’s Cocktail Concert was scrapped at the last minute because of poor advance ticket sales, a symphony spokesman said Tuesday’s show will go on.
