Dart Group Corp. Chairman Herbert Haft is reportedly seeking a larger stake in a Boston-based retailer. Stop & Shop Cos. said it was notified that a partnership controlled by Haft is seeking antitrust clearance to acquire more than $15 million of its stock and that it could even boost its stake to 50% or more during the next 12 months. The move comes less than three months after Haft dropped efforts to acquire retailer Dayton Hudson. Stop & Shop, which operates 114 Stop & Shop supermarkets in the Northeast and 171 Bradlees discount department stores in the East and Southeast, has almost 27.1 million shares outstanding.
