A 23-year-old Hauppauge, N.Y., man confessed to strangling his bride of two months in a violent argument on Christmas Eve and then putting her body in a garbage bag and dumping it in a frozen field, authorities said. Matthew Solomon had protested his innocence in a weekend interview. But when police arrested him, he admitted killing his 22-year-old wife, Lisa, said Suffolk County Police Commissioner James Caples Jr. Suffolk County Judge Donald Kitson ordered Solomon held without bail. Earlier, Solomon had told police that his wife had gone for a walk at about 11:30 p.m., and had never returned. After a six-day search, her body was found in an isolated field about two miles from the couple’s apartment.
