Young AIDS Victim Ill With Pneumonia

INDIANAPOLIS — AIDS victim Ryan White, who once was barred from school because of the disease, has pneumonia and is hospitalized in fair condition, according to reports.
Riley Hospital for Children spokeswoman Mary Sangemino said Thursday that White, 16, was admitted Tuesday evening and was in fair condition. She said the family requested that no further information be released. WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported that he was suffering from pneumonia.
White, a hemophiliac who contracted acquired immune deficiency syndrome in December, 1984, reportedly from contaminated blood products, gained national attention when he won a court fight to attend school in Kokomo, Ind.
