Prep Basketball : Marina Defeats Los Alamitos, 60-41

Dawn Charrions scored 17 points and Dee Dee Stiger 16 to lead Marina High School to a 60-41 victory over Los Alamitos Saturday in a girls’ nonleague basketball game at Los Alamitos.
Melisa Sortino scored 13 and Liberty Brewster added 11 for Marina (13-4). Diane Sands scored 17 for Los Alamitos (5-7).
In the Patriot tournament:
Orange Glen 46, University 32--Laura Hughes scored 32 points to lead Orange Glen in the third-place game at Orange Glen. Shelley Davis had 20 points and 8 rebounds for University (4-5).
In boys’ nonleague games:
La Habra 59, La Mirada 50--Forward Anthony Ortiz scored 15 points, forward Randy Little 14 and guard Bob Small 13 for La Habra (5-5), which won at home.
Newport Christian 50, Bethel Baptist 36--Mark Careaga scored 18 points and Mark Bahnsen 16 for Newport Christian (3-4) at home.
Dana Hills 55, Mission Bay 47--John Lloyd scored 26 points and Danny Mcintyre 10 for Dana Hills (5-5) at home.
