Riddle Solves Christian Heritage in Point Loma Upset
Sophomore center Steve Riddle had a season-high 27 points and 9 rebounds as Point Loma Nazarene College upset Christian Heritage, 87-66, Saturday in an NAIA District 3 game at Point Loma Nazarene.
Christian Heritage had beaten an NCAA Division II team, Chapman College, and UC San Diego, which beat Point Loma Nazarene, 87-81. But Point Loma Nazarene’s superior shooting and rebounding was too much.
In the first half, Point Loma Nazarene (4-6) shot 47% to Christian Heritage’s 33% to take a 39-25 lead.
Senior forward Clayton Williams added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Point Loma, which outrebounded Christian Heritage, 46-28. Christian Heritage (6-4) was led by Bill Soucie’s 18 points.
