Man, 83, Killed in Fight; Daughter Is Booked as Suspect
An 83-year-old man was killed in a fight with his daughter in the Arcadia home they shared and police, who found the woman injured from the struggle, booked her on suspicion of murder, officials said Saturday.
Police and paramedics were sent to the home in the 1400 block of Loganrita Ave. about 8 p.m. Friday after a report that a woman was injured inside, Sgt. Edward Winter said. They were met by Dorothy Mae Stone, 59, who told them her father was in the house and she thought he might have died during a fight.
Her father, Henry Mark Dartholio, 83, was found dead, apparently from injuries suffered in the struggle, Winter said.
Stone “was found to have blood on her and claimed to have been beaten by her father,” Winter said. “There were signs of a struggle inside the house.”
Stone was treated for injuries at Methodist Hospital of Southern California in Arcadia. She was booked on suspicion of murder at the Sybil Brand Institute for Women.
Detectives did not disclose the cause of the fight.
