A 20-year effort by Yorba Linda residents to be part of one unified school system will move closer to reality Monday when the Yorba Linda and Placentia school boards hold a joint meeting to begin the process of joining the districts. Several votes concerning the proposed merger are scheduled; if the actions are approved, a merger referendum will be placed on the ballot in November in both districts.
